As a mature plus sized woman I have travelled a very hard road to learn that who and what I am is not necessarily what people want or expect me to be. In that, I have discovered that appreciation of self, both within AND without makes you a better person.

I strongly believe that women of all shapes and sizes have relevance in this world and that 'models' should be just like anyone out on the street. If you sell skinny clothes use a skinny model. If you sell plus sized clothes use a plus sized model etc. 

Confidence is a major issue for the plus sized community. I myself have suffered greatly from depression and agoraphobia (onset by cruelty and bullying due, in part, to my size). Confidence is an emotion just like happiness or fear, it comes and goes. What I intend to show is that nothing need stand in your way - and if its a mountain too big to climb, find a way around it - because there is ALWAYS a way.

Modelling for me has become the foundation of my self esteem. It has shown me via the lens what I failed to see in my own mirror. I AM beautiful. It has given me the strength to walk in the world with my head held high and to explore myself inside enough to also find that that ain't half bad either. 

Introducing Kellie,  23 from south east Kent.   Kellie has been a model for a year and a half has been nationally published in magazines such as take a break. Kellie is also the proud founder of The Body Project which had also been published, and her aim in life is to get women and men to see that you don't have to be a size 0 to be beautiful and that embracing yourself will satisfy you more than any diet ever will. Kellie enjoy's  playing the drums, judo and shopping and her favourite colour is orange.

Carmina Suzanne is a Harvard-educated American plus model, opera singer and actress who spent the last 5 years in the UK, modeling in London. She’s worked for Burberrys, appeared in a number of UK- and Europe-wide magazines, walked on runways around the UK, Event Managed the seminal plus model show Curves in Couture, and shot with two Vogue Italia and three LFW photographers. She also worked as a diversity advocate, fighting passionately for plus, mature, and disabled models of all colors to be treated fairly in fashion with Models of Diversity. Carmina is now based in her hometown in the USA, working in the Buffalo/ Toronto area for the next few years.
